I see so much straw man name calling on social media recently. When I see folks attempt to question or argue I often see immediate jumping-down-throat behavior from opposition. The behavior is so triggering to me on so many levels. I insistently see red flags and begin to distance. The name/call bully arguing prevents any kind of sound argument to go any further. Why would anyone argue with someone who name calls and shouts right out of the gate to begin with? It also tells me everything I need to know about the person who is shouting and name calling. I wonder how much that person even knows about their own fucking beliefs. Do they know themselves? The Karpman drama triangle is exhausting. If I see it I run and run fast.

Even worse, I think the "jumping down the throat" reaction is coming to define the very positions of either end of the polarized extremes to the point that they can't be really said to believe in anything other than "owning" one another. If either side were to do one thing or the opposite, their opposition will react the same either way. I think Trump and his QAnon cult of dictator-worshipping superstitious imbeciles pose an existential threat to democracy, but the self-identified left in the US is more concerned about being outraged than fixing what's outrageous. Finding ways in which they're oppressed is an end unto itself, and instead of tangibly confronting the enemy, they tear apart their allies, always demanding they "do better." They are more likely to get Trump elected again than any other factor.

"They are blind to events that take place right before their faces because those events have not yet been reduced to bite-sized pieces telling them who to be infuriated at. It is a practiced type of stupidity that takes on an ugly theistic-religious quality of unquestioned faith in the herd."

Words can be difficult for many. I remember when I was promoting "In Remembrance of Mr. Greaves" so I could win the contest. I was terrified that much of my family would find out about the essay and I would be raked over coals. I was pleasantly surprised for the most part that no one gave a shit because my work is 15 minutes too long for them. It's exhausting trying to promote writing. The sad thing is the thought that I should should put a picture of my tits with my work went through my head. I know for damn sure that single tiddy picture would get at least 200 likes from strangers by the end of the day.

If I post a picture of my cat, or a selfie, I get many likes and responses. If I post asking for help I get maybe 2 ppl. That's a strong maybe.

And the quote from Danielewski keeps droning in my head over and over. He simply said that life is several moving parts. We have to be able to talk about several moving parts. It's beyond critical. House of Leaves has a shitload of moving parts. lol
